One Scarf, Four Looks + A Giveaway

Four ways to easily wear a plaid blanket scarf

I have a confession to make: I think I’m a bit of a scarf hoarder. Every single year for the holidays, I ask for new scarves. My requests vary a little bit by the years (last year was plaid, this year is blanket scarves), but scarves are always on my holiday wish list. They are the easiest and cheapest way to transform a simple outfit.

I wore a scarf to drop off my son at preschool yesterday morning and THREE people complimented me saying I looked so nice today. I think that partially had to do with the fact I actually showered and put on real clothes instead of my usual workout wear (#momlife), but it mainly had to do with the scarf I wore on top of a simple chambray dress. I’m not joking, throw on a scarf and people will compliment you on it. It’s amazing what one little piece of material tied around your neck can do.

Red/Blue and Black/white reversible blanket scarf

I do love scarves, but you know what I love even more? Scarves you can wear more than one way. Yes, I know there are thousands YouTube videos and blog posts dedicated to new ways to tie a scarf. I’m usually rushing to get out the door so I likely don’t have time to make my life more complicated with difficult ties. However, I’m flat out obsessed with my new plaid reversible scarf. I recently purchased this scarf from www.ilymix.com (disclosure, at a hefty discount) and I couldn’t be happier with it. The packaging is adorable and they even included a note with my name written on it. I’m a total sucker for details, so this won me over before I even untied the twine.

Like I said, this scarf is reversible. One side is a pretty red and blue plaid and the other is a black and white plaid. I’m sure there are more than four ways to style this gem, but I’m keeping it simple for those of you out there who don’t like tutorials when getting dressed in the morning. Here are my four simple looks.

Red and blue plaid scarf

Look 1: Tie it once around your neck with the red plaid side facing out.

Look 2: Throw it over your shoulders and wear it as a cape with the red side facing out (no tying required!).

White and black plaid blanket scarf

Look 3: Tie it around your neck with the black and white plaid side facing out.

Look 4: Wear it as a cape with the black and white plaid side facing out.

Yes, this is literally the dummies guide to scarf wearing, which is exactly how I like it. One thing I should note, this scarf is a rectangular shape instead of a square, which makes it easier to wear as a cape. It also comes in a blue and green plaid in case you have too much red in your life. Ilymix offers a full range of blanket scarves and sunglasses which are all affordable and very stylish. They are also offering 20% off your purchase using code JENNY20. Woo hoo for coupon codes, especially ones with my name in it.

Now, here’s the best part. Ilymix is also graciously providing a blanket scarf as a giveaway to my blog readers! 2. A reversible scarf?? I think I’m in love, lol!
I love blanket scarfs, they’re so amazing and comfortable. My office gets really chilly so it’s nice that I can drape it over my shoulders and keep warm and still look stylish.

    • I had the same thought!! How do more reversible scarves not exist?? Hope you registered to win!

  3. I am a scarf nut so, yeah, I tried my hand at your giveaway 🙂 Scarf is so warm and cozy looking! I do cape style with thicker scarves and tied with thinner ones.

  4. I am a scarf nut I admit and wear thicker ones on my shoulders and loop the lighter ones; this one is soft and cozy looking I must say.

    • I used to loop them all, but am now a big fan of throwing them over my shoulders. Why have I not been doing this for years? Have a great day!

  5. This look is so cute and perfect for the season! I love how it’s reversible giving you more options for styling.

    • Thanks so much, I love them all as well. Thanks for checking out my blog!
