How to get Longer Lashes

Makeup tips

I’m one of those who is “blessed” with thin, blonde eyelashes that are basically invisible sans make-up. Like most women, mascara is my friend. If I was trapped on a desert island and could only take one make-up product, it would definitely be mascara. Don’t even ask me what else I’d take with me on that imaginary island. Questions like that are way too difficult for me to answer. Islands aside, even the best mascara can only do so much. Over the last couple months, I decided to take matters into my own hands and tried out a new product to make my lashes grow for real. Enter Rodan + Fields Lash Boost.

Lash boosting serum

I know what you are thinking. We’ve all seen the pictures on Facebook. Your old friend you haven’t spoken to in years from high school has been posting about this stuff like crazy. I’ll be the first to admit, the R+F posts can be a little much. Multi-level marketing aside, THIS STUFF WORKS. Lash Boost uses peptides and a bunch of other patented goodness to moisturize your lashes and actually make them grow. All you have to do is brush the gel on before bed each night. No weird eye discoloration or other side effects. I have crazy sensitive skin and eyes and had no problems at all with the product. Now here’s the proof:

   Lash boost before and after

Who doesn’t love a good before and after photo? Close-ups like these are wayyyy outside my comfort zone given I’m no spring chicken. But you can clearly see after using Lash Boost for 90 days, my lashes are definitely longer and fuller. I could tell a difference in the length after 60 days, but I felt like it really took me the extra month to achieve decent fullness. You can also use the product on your eyebrows, but I didn’t test that out since I had mine microbladed earlier this year. And as a side note, please ignore the red, glassy eyes around the 60 day mark. That was right in the middle of the Arizona allergy season and I was doing my best to take a photo without sneezing.

If I’m being honest, the biggest downfall for Lash Boost is remembering to apply it every single night. It isn’t magic and won’t work if you don’t use it. I definitely forgot my fair share of nights, especially within the first 60 days, so it is possible you could have even better results.

Rodan and Fields review

Now, I’m guessing some of you might be interested in trying out Lash Boost. However, there is no way you want to reach out to the random high school friend you haven’t spoken to in over a decade. Don’t do it. I promise, it will be awkward and no one wants to open that can of worms. Instead, reach out to one of my besties from college, Abby Merchant, who is an R+F consultant. She isn’t over the top, won’t pressure you one bit, and she won’t start commenting on all your Facebook posts of your kids just to get you to purchase something else. You can check out her R+F website or send her an email at abbymerchant@gmail.com for more info. She’s even cool enough to my readers 10% off if you email her and mention “The Sensible Shopaholic”.
