The Cure for Dry Hair during Winter

Flip your hair like you just don't care

Winter has officially arrived. This means pretty snow, comfy sweaters and lazy evenings by the fire. This also means cold Winter air and dry indoor heat. Oh, the heat. There is something about home heating systems that suck the life out of my hair and skin. I’ll tackle skincare at a later date, but today I’m sharing my solution to dry hair in Winter.

The solution to good hair during winter

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized changing up my beauty routines based on the seasons makes a big difference. During Winter, I need hydration. I’ve been a long-time fan of Moroccanoil and have collaborated with them several times in the past (here and here). Therefore, I was thrilled when they asked if I wanted to test out their hydration line of products. I mean, I live in the desert. I need all the hydration I can get, especially in the Winter.

The perfect outfit for Winter and Fall

I’ve been using the Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo and Hydrating Conditioner and I can honestly say my hair feels much more moisturized when I step out of the shower. It has been easier to get a comb through my wet hair, especially on the days when I add the Weightless Hydrating Mask into the mix. I just love that feeling when my hair isn’t dry and tangled and instead feels smooth and sleek. Ahhhhhh. We all know that feeling.

The best Moroccanoil Moisturizing products

As far as post-shower products, I’ll admit, I like to keep my routine simple. The Moroccanoil Treatment has been a staple of mine for almost a decade and it works on every single hair type. After applying the treatment, I usually let my hair air dry 70-80% of the way. This is partly because I try to avoid heat products when possible, but mostly out of pure laziness. With this approach, I can spend less time blow drying and more time doing literally anything else. Because who really likes drying their hair?!

The good news is my blow drying time has been cut in half since I received my new Moroccanoil Tourmaline Ceramic Hair Dryer. This thing is seriously like a jet engine. It is a bit of a splurge purchase, but when it makes a blah task a little easier, I’d argue it is worth it. After blow drying, I usually curl my hair with either a curling wand or iron, then finish off with the Hydrating Styling Cream. I’m out the door and ready to go.

  5. You hair looks so shiny and healthy! My hair has definitely been dry during this harsh winter. I have been using Moroccan oil shampoo And I like it so I really should try their other products.

  6. I’ve heard so much good things about Morocan oil. Although I have oily scalps, I may have to give them a try during winter to save those dry brittle ends.
